My Reiki Story

I'm not sure if I found Reiki or if Reiki found me. After going to school and achieving my doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy, I was looking for more professional development in my field and came across Reiki training online. Well, when I read up on it, I realized that it was what I was looking for in my practice. I wanted to address the mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the person in addition to the physical and neurological. I wanted to include more holistic aspects in my practice as an OT and address the whole person mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. So, I took the certifications as a Level 1, Level 2, Reiki Master and Reiki Master Teacher  and realized that I was not only providing more holistic and mindful approaches to the clients that I worked with, but I personally began to feel better mentally, emotionally and physically. I was able to better manage my own inflammatory pain and stress. I felt a stronger spiritual connection to the universe and deep within myself. Reiki practice opened up a part of myself that had been dormant for quite a while and now I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to share my gift of Reiki with all of you!

My Background

I would like to share a little bit about myself! I graduated with a BS in Occupational Therapy in 2001 from Quinnipiac University and went back to my alma mater and graduated with my masters degree and post professional doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy in 2015. I have years of experience working in the areas of mental health, early intervention, pediatrics, teaching in higher education, and, now, holistic practices. I have training and extensive experience in sensory integration, self regulation, emotional regulation, and therapeutic manual techniques, including myofascial release. I have always been attracted to holistic practices since I was child and have always had a natural gift for healing and helping others.
